Quizalofop-Ethyl 10% EC is a selective, post-emergence herbicide used to control grassy weeds in broadleaf crops like soybeans. It works by inhibiting the Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase (ACCase) enzyme, disrupting fatty acid synthesis and leading to the weed’s death. Applied to the leaves, it is absorbed quickly, translocates throughout the plant, and causes leaves to turn purplish-red before they are completely killed in 10-15 days.

  • Chemical Class: Aryloxy-phenoxy-propionates. 
  • Mode of Action: Systemic, post-emergence herbicide that inhibits the ACCase enzyme in grasses, essential for cell membrane formation. 
  • Selectivity: Targets grassy weeds (narrow-leaved) while being safe for broadleaf crops. 
  • Absorption & Translocation: Absorbed by leaves within hours and translocated throughout the entire plant within one day. 
  • Rainfastness: Effective even if rain occurs one hour after application. 
  • Symptoms: Affected weeds develop purplish-red leaves within 5-8 days, leading to complete killing within 10-15 days.
